Parents and carers are a vital and substantial part of the WMG Academy community. As such we encourage parents to keep abreast of their child’s work. To enable this we give our parents access to our management information system so that they can login and view their child’s timetable, online projects and any learner comments and feedback left by our teaching staff.
Do you have a question about the school building, the curriculum, the pastoral care, the staff? Have a look through our Frequently Asked Questions below and if you don’t find the answer you want then please do contact us, either by email: email@example.com or on the contact telephone number at the foot of this webpage.
Hours: The WMG Academy for Young Engineers will be open from 7.30am for students to study, have mentoring sessions from employers or receive individual support.
Core teaching hours will be from 8.30am until 4.30pm each day. All students will be expected to attend during these hours.
On a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday there will be enrichment from 4.30pm until 6pm. This will include a range of activities such as Greenpower racing, Duke of Edinburgh, Young Enterprise, the opportunity to do extra courses and sport.
Enrichment will be compulsory for all students unless they can prove that they do something worthwhile outside of the WMG Academy.
ICT: Students will be able to bring in their own tablet/laptop devices and connect to the WMG Academy for Young Engineers system which will have appropriate firewalls.. There will be plenty of IT devices in the building and it is NOT a requirement for students to have their own. We recognise that some young people prefer to use their own devices and want to facilitate this.
All students will be expected to sign an Acceptable User IT agreement and compile with the WMG Academy for Young Engineers policy for e-safety regardless of whether they are using their own device or not.
